Mitchell Hatton is the Owner and operator of Silver Star Mechanical in Bowral – The Southern Highlands only Mercedes-Benz Automotive Service And Repairs Workshop.

Mitchell began working with Mercedes-Benz in 1998, at the age of 15.

“I worked there one day a week while I finished school,” he reveals. “During this time, I completed my TAFE training, as well as my Mercedes-Benz training, and an Accelerated Training Program.”

Loyal and steadfast, Mitchell remained with the same workshop until 2011, when he took some time off to work as a truck mechanic and diesel fitter in the mines.

However, the pull to these exceptional luxury cars was strong. Within two years, Mitchell was back in the Southern Highlands and set up shop as Silver Star Mechanical.

This was in 2013, and since then, he has focused solely on servicing and repairing Mercedes-Benz cars from 1997 models to modern day. Little wonder he is reputed as being the best in the region at caring for these premium automobiles.

“I opened the workshop three days a week to begin with,” says Mitchell. “But business quickly boomed and it soon grew into four days a week, and then five. That’s when I knew I had to employ someone.”

Enter, Dean Hull, also a long-time Mercedes-Benz service and repair mechanic.

Dean and Mitchell had worked together at Mercedes-Benz when Mitchell was starting out. They knew they had a great business and workshop rapport. It was a no-brainer for Mitchell to add Dean to the Silver Star Mechanical team.

Dean brings with him a wealth of experience servicing and repairing Mercedes-Benz, having been a specialist in this area for over 40 years.

“He is our diagnostic technician,” says Mitchell. “Dean actually trained me to be a Mercedes-Benz mechanic, so I learnt from the best of the best.”

Dean’s friendly, honest nature meant he quickly forged loyal relationships with Mercedes-Benz owners in the area. Many of these people followed Dean when he joined us. He really is an asset to our business.”

Mitchell and Dean share a combined 65+ years of Mercedes-Benz experience between them.
