Five Signs It’s Time To Service Your Mercedes-Benz

Five Signs It’s Time To Service Your Mercedes-Benz

Mitchell Hatton, owner/operator of Silver Star Mercedes-Benz Service And Repair advises looking out for the following things to know when it’s time to service your Mercedes-Benz.

1. You’ve reached the amount of kilometres due to service your Mercedes-Benz

We leave a little sticker on your top right windscreen, which advises the most kilometres your car should before its next service. It’s best to always adhere to this. Any smaller issues that might otherwise be easily fixed, may become larger, more expensive problems if you leave it too long.

2. Your Mercedes-Benz May Start To Feel Sluggish

You know your car better than anyone, so you’ll know when it’s not performing at its peak. It may feel a little bit “off” compared to when it has been freshly serviced. It may not be accelerating as efficiently, or the brakes may feel  harder to compress. These things indicate that it’s time to service your Mercedes-Benz. Again, it’s best to get these things seen to sooner rather than later. It might be as simple as replacing your oil and filter, but without this upkeep, the neglect could cause your car to suffer.

3. Your Tyres Can Lose Pressure

You’ll be able to check this by looking at them, obviously. If they look a bit deflated, they likely are. If they feel heavy when you’re steering, it’s another good sign it’s time to service your Mercedes-Benz.

However, it may not always be that simple. Tyre pressure that is even slightly off may not be visible or able to be felt, and it can cause issues with wheel alignment or grip. It’s best to check your tyre pressure every couple of months. Bring your Mercedes-Benz to us and we can check your tyre pressure and re-set your tyre pressure monitor for you, if required.

4. You’ve Had To Top Up Your Oil

If you’ve had to top up your own oil, or the water in your washer bottle is low, it’s likely time for a service. While they may seem like small things, they are clear indicators that it’s time to get a professional looking under the bonnet.

5. Warning Lights Appear On The Dash

Warning lights appearing on your dash? It needs to be plugged in to one of our diagnostic scanners. It may be that a sensor is being a little overly sensitive, or it could be an actual issue. Either way, stay on top of these things to get the most from your luxury vehicle.
